Azure native integration elevates Elastic Cloud Serverless experience

We're thrilled to announce a significant leap forward in making Elastic Cloud Serverless even more accessible and powerful for Azure users. With the general availability (GA) of Elastic Cloud Serverless on Azure, we've just released the Azure native integration for Elastic Cloud Serverless. This builds upon our existing Azure native integration for Elastic Cloud Hosted, allowing users to seamlessly discover and manage Elastic Cloud in a way that feels inherently part of the Azure ecosystem.
What is Elastic Cloud Serverless?
At its core, Elastic Cloud Serverless is a fully managed solution that empowers you to deploy and use Elastic's powerful search, observability, and security capabilities without the operational overhead of managing underlying infrastructure. Gone are the days of provisioning clusters, nodes, and complex scaling configurations. Instead, you create serverless projects that automatically adapt to your workload, scaling up and down in real time. This abstraction frees you to focus purely on deriving value and insights from your data, whether it's for building intelligent search applications, unifying logs and metrics for comprehensive observability, or detecting and responding to security threats.
The architecture of Elastic Cloud Serverless is designed for optimal performance and cost efficiency. It decouples compute and storage, using inexpensive object storage as the system of record. This allows for independent scaling of search and indexing operations, ensuring low-latency querying even on vast datasets. You pay only for what you use, making it a highly cost-effective solution for unpredictable workloads.
The power of Azure native integration
The new Azure native integration for Elastic Cloud Serverless streamlines your experience from discovery to ongoing management — all within the familiar confines of the Azure portal. This means you get:
Seamless discovery and subscription: Users can easily find Elastic Cloud solutions by searching for “Elasticsearch” in the Azure portal, asking Copilot, searching the marketplace, or directly accessing the resource hub alongside first-party Azure services. Subscribing to Elastic Cloud Serverless now involves minimal steps, integrating directly with your Azure billing.
- Unified management experience: Manage your Elastic Cloud Serverless resources throughout their entire lifecycle without ever leaving the Azure portal. This provides a single pane of glass for monitoring, configuration, and operational tasks.
- Integrated workflows: Integrate directly with Azure logs and even Azure OpenAI. You can easily choose which logs to send to your Elastic project directly from within the portal and then seamlessly use single sign-on (SSO) to enter Kibana for analysis.
- Simplified billing and Microsoft Azure Consumption Commitment (MACC) decrement: Projects are billed alongside your existing Elastic Cloud deployments, offering the same benefits when purchasing through the Azure Marketplace, such as simplified billing and MACC decrement. Existing pay-as-you-go and annual prepaid customers can immediately benefit from this streamlined experience.
Getting started in the Azure portal
To begin your journey with Elastic Cloud Serverless and Azure native integration, simply log in to the Azure portal.
1. Search for Elastic: You can search for “Elasticsearch” in the Azure portal search bar, ask Copilot for assistance, or navigate directly to the Azure Marketplace or resource hub.

2. Create a resource: Once you locate Elastic, you can create a Search, Observability, or Security resource, aligning with your specific use case.

3. Configure logs (optional): From within the portal, you can conveniently select and configure which Azure logs you wish to send to your new Elastic project.
4. SSO to Kibana: After setup, you can seamlessly single sign-on into Kibana directly from the Azure portal to start exploring your data and building powerful solutions.
Give it a go!
With the deeper native integration of Elastic Cloud Serverless in the Azure marketplace, customers benefit from a seamless purchasing experience directly within the Azure portal. This integration allows you to transact and deploy Elastic solutions easily while using your existing MACC, helping maximize the value of your Azure investments. Additionally, you can enjoy consolidated billing, streamlined access through Azure SSO, and the ability to manage Elastic deployments alongside other Azure resources. These enhancements simplify procurement, accelerate time-to-value, and provide greater flexibility and control for organizations adopting Elastic Cloud Serverless on Azure.
